Certified organic trees and shrubs  are difficult to find, but a handful of organic nurseries and distributors have them available.   St. Lawrence Nurseries is the only organic nursery in the USA I've been able to find that offers certified organic shade trees and timber trees, as well as a wonderful selection of certified organic fruit trees. You can order many varieties of certified organic nut-bearing trees from St. Lawrence, as well as apple, cherry and pear trees, all certified organic.  Additionally, St. Lawrence Nurseries offers many varieties of certified organic fruit-bearing shrubs.

Four Winds Growers offers certified organic lemon and lime trees. A few other nurseries now offer an assortment of organically grown shrubs and trees, including fir and pine trees as well as shade, nut and ornamental trees.

I recommend browsing each of the sites listed, as each nursery and grower offers a different selection of trees and shrubs.
